Up until now, the 2026 World Cup has generally been very successful for Real Madrid, as they still have seven players involved ahead of the quarter-final stage starting. And because it is confirmed that at least one will be in the semi-finals, it will soon be confirmed that their opening match of the 2026-27 La Liga season will be rescheduled to later in August.

Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Ibrahima Konate (all France), Jude Bellingham (England), Marc Cucurella (Spain), Brahim Diaz (Morocco) and Belgium (Belgium) are the Real Madrid players still involved in the World Cup, and each of them will have dreams of helping their respective nations left the iconic trophy on the 19th of July. And as it turns out, at least one of them will play in the final on that date, as per MD.

France, Morocco, Spain and Belgium are all on one side of the draw, meaning that one of these nations will qualify for the World Cup final. Real Madrid has a player in each of these squads, thus they are confirmed as being the first club to have representation in the showpiece event.

Bellingham could make it so Real Madrid teammates face off

The only Real Madrid player not on that side of the draw is Bellingham. His England side face Norway in their upcoming quarter-final, and if they progress, they will face the winner of Argentina or Switzerland in the last four, meaning that a victory in both matches would ensure that two members of Jose Mourinho’s squad would compete against each other in the World Cup final.

Real Madrid will continue to follow the World Cup up until the final on the 19th, but six days before, Mourinho’s squad will be at Valdebebas for the start of pre-season, and that will take precedence above all else.
